Flashing a Verizon V3c to Alltel and Using
Humpa’s MMS Server
Items you will need
- USB cable to connect to the Razr
- Motorola PST Programmer Software. Version 7.2.3 is
known to work although 7.1.1 may work.
- P2KSeem. The SD Edition (SuperDave) is easier to
use, in my opinion
- Alltel flash file
- A working WAP proxy that you can use and view the
connection logs – easiest if you run your own.
HoTTProxy is
recommended
Before you start
You will lose all ring tones, pictures and
contacts from your phone - either from the flash itself or from the master reset
that must be performed. Before flashing,
- Backup all ring tones
- Backup up all pictures
- Backup up all contacts
To begin
- If the Razr has never been used, make sure you perform
the OTA programming via *228, option 1.
- If you’ve had the Razr, perform a PRL update vie *228,
option 2.
- Make sure your Razr will connect to the GIN (Get it
Now) catalog. You’ve probably already done this but if for some reason you
just pulled this Razr out of the box, you need to use the data access once
before flashing. GIN is the easy way to accomplish this – just view a few
catalog pages and your done.
- Extract the Alltel firmware to a directory on your
computer.
- Open Windows Explorer and browse to the
c:\Program Files\Motorola\PST directory

- In that directory, locate the executable
MultiFlashFlex.exe

Double-click on this file to start the flash
application
- The following window will appear. In the lower
portion you should see your phone listed and a Connected
verifying that the application can communicate with your phone. If it does
not, troubleshoot the PST application further.
In the top box Flash File Name – click on the browse button
and locate the Alltel flash file you extracted from the downloaded archive
file
Then click Start The flashing will begin. When the status
lists Successful let the phone restart and wait until it has
fully restarted and you see the normal screens – this may take 2-3 minutes.

- Perform a Master Clear - \Settings\Initial
Setup\Master Clear
- Perform a Master Reset - \Settings\Initial

- Restart the phone – power off and back on
- On your HoTTProxy server, create a new user – call it
A and assign a password of A
- Create a new websession that points to your Hottproxy
(or equivalent WAP proxy server).
UserID – A
Password – A
GatewayIP – x.x.x.x (your server’s IP address)
Service Type 1 – HTTP
Port 1 – 9201 (default WAP port – enter the port you configured your
Hottproxy for)
- Select the new websession and verify you can access
the homepage defined on your HottProxy server
- Start Motorola PST and minimize it.
- Start P2KSeem
- Load the following SEEM from the Razr
SEEM - 2742 Record-0001 Bytes-0090
Go to offset 62 and enable bit 5

- Restart the phone (using the Restart Phone button) and
then disconnect the USB cable

- Exit back to the main menu.
- Take a picture. Select “Send to an Online Album”
- It will fail.

modify your websession to use this username and password.
